The Gliese 1061 System, also known as the Sānguó Yǎnyì System, is an inhabited star system that lies approximately 12 light years away from the Solar System, with a one-way transit between the two requiring a thirteen year total voyage aboard starships equipped with conventional Kimber Drives.

Star[edit | edit source]

A red dwarf star of spectral type M5.5 V, Gliese 1061 is very small, dim, and red. It is close to the lower mass limit for a star and has an estimated mass of about 11.3% of the Sun, only 0.1% as luminous.

Planets[edit | edit source]

LHS 1723 is host to three planets with Earth-masses between 1.75 and 1.4, all tidally locked.

  • Yunchang (Gliese 1061 b) - A Venus-like planet with an atmosphere dominated by CO2, tidally locked. Practically uninhabitable due to extremely high temperatures. It has a mass of 1.38 M⊕.
  • Zilong (Gliese 1061 c) - A rocky planet with an atmosphere dominated by CO2 and water vapour, tidally locked. Settled by Earthers and de-facto capital of the system. Currently under an oppressive corporate regime. It has a mass of 1.75 M⊕.
  • Kongming (Gliese 1061 d) - Cold, rocky planet, tidally locked. Initially settled by Zilong exiles but now a hub for mining. It has a mass of 1.68 M⊕.
