The Kuiper Belt is a circumstellar disc in the outer Solar System, extending from the orbit of Neptune to approximately 7.5 billion kilometers from the Sun. The primary planetoid within the Kuiper Belt is the dwarf planet Pluto, which serves as a conduit between the Solar System and extrasolar colonies. Other Kuiper belt objects include Makemake, Haumea, Orcus, Quaoar, and Varda. Almost of the entirety of these planetoids along with many of the asteroids in the Kuiper Belt are within an Interstellar Zone but also under the direction of Kuiper Minerals. However, there are still many small isolated communities in the Kuiper Belt that manage their own affairs rather than submit to the authority of Kuiper Minerals. Independent KuBelters are known to be highly territorial with an intense dislike for corporations, especially Kuiper Minerals.
