The Teegarden's Star System is a star system located about 12 light years away from Earth that was first colonised in 3259 by an expedition of various Christian sects. The system currently lies outside of the authority of Interstellar Governed Space Authority, but the system is by no means empty. The planet Eden has a xenophobic extra-IGSA government that exercises control over much of the system. The Edenites named the planetary bodies under their control after hellish underworlds to contrast with their own "idyllic" Eden. Meanwhile, a secretive Axil Industries mining operation takes place on the dwarf planet Hunte within the system’s circumstellar disc, the Outer Belt.

The core star of the system, Teegarden’s Star, is an M-type red dwarf that emits a weak red light. The star has an apparent visual magnitude of 15 and can only be seen through large telescopes from the Solar System.

Planets[edit | edit source]

The system features a collection of two Earth-mass planets contained between a ring of orbital dust with a dwarf planet lying further out in the system. The system is shrouded in the dim red light given off by its red dwarf, and it contains many useful minerals contained in a circumstellar disc far beyond Tartarus. This circumstellar disc, known as the Outer Belt, contains a single known planetary body, a dwarf planet.

  • Eden (Teegarden b) - A tidally locked rocky planet that lies within its star’s habitable zone but lacking a proper atmosphere. It is governed by the Godly Republic of Eden and the most densely inhabited planet in the system. A small orbital shipyard named Moses orbits the planet, created by the Edenites to build their navy.
  • Tartarus (Teegarden c) - A tidally locked rocky planet in a similar situation to Eden. Also controlled by the Godly Republic of Eden and somewhat settled.
  • Ukobach - A dwarf planet located between Tartarus and the Outer Belt controlled by the Godly Republic of Eden that is rich in minerals, an important location for mining and industry. The lone commercial connection between the Godly Republic and the outside world.
  • Hunte - A dwarf planet that sits within Teegarden’s Star's circumstellar disc. Unknown to the Edenites but instead discovered by scouts of Axil Industries. Currently used as the headquarters for the mining operations taking place in the sytem's Outer Belt.
