Mimas is a moon of Saturn, managed by the eponymous union, and the smallest astronomical body that is known to still be rounded in shape because of self-gravitation. Settled as an ice mining colony during the initial colonization of Saturn, Mimas was well-known in its early history for its "super-laser", a large crater (also called Herschel), but the moon has largely faded from the public eye as Titan grew in importance.
