OK gas boomer… This article depicts things that appeared in the 3005: Orbital Blues table-top RPG. Some or all of what you'll see occurred a thousand years before the mainline story.

Peke Shakiraquan was a crewmate aboard the Queen Bitch, never seen without his Interface Suit. A Belter from far out in the Kuiper Belt, Peke was a void freak originally until the need for gainful employment led him to seek his fortune in the wider Solar System which eventually led him to Titan in 3005, where he came to be employed by Axil Energy and join the crew of the Queen Bitch.

History

Peke Shakiraquan was born on a distant asteroid in the Kuiper Belt, a resident of the some of the furthest reaches of inhabited Governed Space in the Solar System. He is one of millions on the fringes of the Solar System who likely to have never set foot on the surface of a planet or moon. As a result, even other Belters think people like Peke are a little strange. Having never known fresh air, Peke never goes anywhere without his trusty spacesuit, practically growing up inside it like many other Belters in Kuiper Belt. A lack of well-paying work led Peke to Titan, where he was eventually swept up into joining the Placeholder Crew.

Personality

Peke Shakiraquan is a bit of a wild card by nature, being highly unpredictable, spontaneous, and someone who defies easy categorization. Just like his suit, Peke sometimes hides his real feelings behind a mysterious yet chaotic personality. This makes him highly adaptable, often able to thrive easily in new environments. However, it also makes him a little challenging to understand or trust, as he might do something one day to hurt someone then be that person's best friend the next. Despite his rather unpredictable nature, Peke is not disloyal, and he is a valued part of the Placeholder Crew.

Due to being a Belter, Peke is something of an agoraphobe, and he is rather uncomfortable in high-gravity atmospheres, especially on planets like Earth or Mars. This agoraphobia can become especially extreme under a sky that does not resemble the black vacuum of space, Peke's home. Naturally, Peke, like most Belters, prefers the safe embrace of the vacuum to living on the ground. As a Belter, Peke is rather ignorant about customs not from his own culture, and he is more than willing to engage in violence if negotiations fail.

Peke understands systems better than people, and he is the main pilot, technician, and mechanic for the Queen Bitch. He is often the person who often solves hardware and technical problems aboard the ship, and Peke often brags that he is "the best pilot on the Queen Bitch." This confidence is usually founded, but it can also get him into trouble on occasion.

Appearance

Quite literally, Peke Shakiraquan is never seen without his trusty Interface Suit. He wears it at all times, and as a result, the only part of his body anyone sees is his pale face though his golden hair is sometimes also visible. Peke is freakishly tall like most Belters, more than seven feet, and he towers over most of his crewmates.

About

“	Inhumane. How would you like to be crushed by the gravity of your distant true-human ancestors? Gravity. Crushed. Death.	”
–One of five queries given by IGSA-Earth representative Quinton Reed during a post-mission psychohazard audit at IGSAPOL Ceres. Later recalled by Peke as the most confronting.
