“ Placeholder Crew? ”

–Hurleen Pitstain registering the name of the crew to Irving Force

The Placeholder Crew is the name of the crew of the Queen Bitch, a freelancer ship loosely associated Axil Energy. Founded in 3005, the Placeholder Crew is led by its captain, Hurleen Pitstain, and its First Mate, Chud Nebula Junior. Other crewmates include Peke Shakiraquan, Larraye Drywall (a L-series flash clone legally owned by Nero Kentsingtool), and Nero Kentsingtool. Other beings present alongside the Placeholder Crew on the Queen Bitch include Soup (a rather stupid orange cat) and Aidee (a rather stupid fishgirl).

History[edit | edit source]

The crew first met after eviction from their apartments on Titan, when their previous employers were bought out by Axil Energy. Taken to the office of Irving Force, they were informed of their position as freelancers within Axil, and the crew was given the option of renting a ship or buying one outright for their work. This was available due to the high volume of ships available due to the shipbuilding boom accompanying the Interstellar Boom in the Solar System. The crew chose to buy their ship, and Irving Force chose Hurleen Pitstain to be the crew's captain. It was Hurleen who chose the name of the ship, the Queen Bitch, and the name of the crew, the Placeholder Crew. From there, the Placeholder Crew was sent out to fulfill contracts across the Solar System for Axil and get horribly into debt to various people such as Kaede Reyer (progenitor of Kokonotsu Reyer), Joemummad Qonkeesha, Nomi Ania, Augustus Montgomery, and even Ka Sirai. The Placeholder Crew also made bitter enemies of the Netsweepers due to a firefight on Ceres that led the crew to be banned from the planetoid for four years. Captain Hurleen Pitstain in particular went through a whirlwind year, with her ex-boyfriend Mikey McGoodboye dying in a human sacrifice ritual due to a mission she accepted while also conceiving a child with him shortly before his death.

Over the year 3005, the Placeholder Crew gained quite a bad reputation across the Solar System with members of crew being banned from various planets and jurisdictions including Ceres, Earth, Venus, Pluto, and Jupiter. This eventually culminated with Irving Force firing the Placeholder Crew, stripping them of their Axil Energy affiliation and registration. Left as independent freelancers, the Placeholder Crew forged their own destiny within the Solar System free of Axil. This, Hurleen's gestating child (nicknamed Peanut), and crushing debt increased the pressure on the crew bit by bit. The pressure lessened somewhat after the Placeholder Crew cleared their massive debt through a hostage and ransom plot, but the stress kept building.

Things came to a head near Triton, where the Queen Bitch was attacked by Bound Apocalypse pirates. The pirates devastated the ship, killed Aidee, and nearly killed Peanut still within its Ectogenesis chamber. After the crew mourned the fishgirl's death, Hurleen, at Larraye's advice, dropped off Peanut with her sister Ryzz Cringula and Ryzz's husband Humpwild Cringula on Umbriel, the moon of Uranus, for the baby's own safety. Before leaving Umbriel, the Placeholder Crew registered their ship and renamed it Dirty Deeds. The ship then departed for Eris and their next mission. After that mission and a return trip to rendezvous with Nomi Ania above Ceres, something unexpected happened: the flash clone Larraye confessed her romantic feelings for Nero. Nero reciprocated, and the two quietly became a couple. Dirty Deeds then continued on to its next destination: Mars.

Culture[edit | edit source]

The Placeholder Crew has a rather individualist culture, with each member being very different from one another and generally giving one another space whenever possible on such a small ship. The main unifying factors for the Placeholder Crew are their shared debts, their shared loans, and their shared love for Soup.

Influence[edit | edit source]

The Queen Bitch takes the Placeholder Crew throughout the Solar System, making friends and enemies all over the place. More than often, the crew is forced into difficult positions due to crushing debts and punishing loans, and they have very little influence with anyone, even their Axil Energy bosses. This led to their eventually dismissal by Axil Energy due to being more trouble than they were worth.
