Key changes:
- Acceleration and deceleration to near speed of light takes approximately one year at each point at a 1g acceleration, changing the length of journeys to factor in the extra time required.
- Complete restructuring of interstellar colonisation priorities focusing on earth like gravity and water over viability as terraforming candidates.
- Complete rewrite of everything that wasn't based on extrapolated dates (including Mars).
- Full extrapolation from real world events and planned future events.
- More decentralised interstellar colonisation approach to factor in the logistical challenges.

Post-Singularity Age (2112 - 2201)[edit | edit source]
Date | Description | Loc | Rel |
---|---|---|---|
2112 | Significant advancements in machine learning in the decades prior gives birth to a new generation of artificial intelligence technology, with the learning capacity of this new AI accelerating human technological advancement beyond all measure. Many authorities hail this breakthrough as the birth of the Technological Singularity. | ||
2112 | First space elevator built on Earth. | ||
2113 | First pictures of the Alpha Centauri System arrive on Earth, forty-four years after the Daedalus was launched. The success of the mission sparks a renewed interest extrasolar exploration and plans are made for future missions to send probes to all stars within fifteen light years of the Solar System. | ||
2116 | Aided by modern learning AI, the theories of Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity are successfully unified, becoming known as the Theory of Everything. | ||
December 27, 2117 | John II Samuel Smith, the first healthy human of ectogenesis reproduction method. He lives for 92 years contributing greatly for studies related to ectogenesis. | ||
2121 | Final signals from the Daedalus probe are received. | ||
2133 | The CNSA launch the Zheng He probe towards the Luyten's star system, the closest star system with a potentially Earth like planet to have been found within fifty light years of Earth. The journey is projected to take one hundred years and critics of the venture claim that the data received will not reach Earth within a human lifetime. | ||
2137 | By this point, global warming has reached a critical level, with sea levels having risen by two meters. Though sea walls were constructed across the world to protect some vital developed coastal areas, many other cities had already been partially or fully submerged. Sometime at this point, several nations begin commissioning the construction of climate-controlled domed cities, which'd in the following centuries form the basis of Earth's arcologies. | ||
2145 | L'Avenir, the first ever domed city, was built in central-France. | ||
2151 | Fourth generation nuclear weapons see rapid development, which are tactually useful due to them producing no radioactive fallout. 4th generation nuclear weapons are fusion-based hydrogen bombs with a non-fission laser trigger, with the fission being the source of fallout in previous nuclear warheads. Though effective, the weight of the laser emitters is too great for these new nuclear weapons to be used as Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM). | ||
2151 | Advances in laser efficiency lead to the development of the first Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) reactors capable of generating net positive energy. | ||
2158 | Dome city of Dongyeon-hang was built. | ||
2180 | Department of Luna declared by the United Nations, with the lunar surface initially zoned for scientific and strictly limited industrial projects, with the first colonies seeking to mine helium-3 for use in fusion reactors. | ||
2193 | Ceres is colonised. | ||
2195 | After centuries of speculation, research and controlled tests on Earth and Luna, Mars is seeded with the first primitive terraforming drones, tasked initially to detoxify its soil, and to release compounds into its atmosphere to induce a warming greenhouse effect. |
Post-Singularity Age was one of innovations, stargazing and scientific breakthroughs even if the era was shadowed by the now seemingly inevitable destruction of Earth's biosphere.
Solar Age (2201 - 2800)[edit | edit source]
Date | Description | Loc | Rel |
---|---|---|---|
2201 | By now, VASIMR systems have become cheap enough to be fitted on most space-worthy ships, opening the floodgates for feasible colonisation of the Solar System. | ||
2203 | Construction of the first domed city on Mars, Arcadia, begins. Modeled off of the Shimizu Mega-City Pyramid, the project sparks further development of the Martian colony beyond the isolated outposts spread across the planet. | ||
2225 | Arcadia is completed, becoming the de-facto capital of Mars. Its completion sparks rapid growth of the Martian colony, prompting an influx of colonists from Earth. A cultural divide between the Arcadia and the Martian Frontier develops. | ||
2233 | The Zheng He arrives in Luyten's star system, on a planned twelve year mission of cataloging the planets within the system. | ||
2245 | One hundred and twelve years since it departed the Solar System, The first images from the Zheng He of Luyten's Star system are received on Earth. | ||
2246 | After a flyby of Luyten's Star, Zheng He enters into a dormant state in orbit around it, sending back a steady signal indefinitely as it draws power from solar cells. | ||
2248 | The moons of Jupiter, Callisto and Ganymede, are settled as part of preparations to colonize Europa. Construction of domed cities begin in Europa's orbit, with the intention of lowering them to the surface once they are completed. | ||
2255 | Detailed images of Luyten b are received for the first time, confirming its suitability as a terraforming candidate. The first concrete plans for an extrasolar colony are drawn up by the CNSA. | ||
2257 | Data from the Zheng He flyby of Luyten's Star is received from the probe. | ||
2269 | Axil Energy, direct predecessor to the modern Axil Industries, is founded by asteroid mining magnate Thomas Brady Axil. | ||
2270 | The moon of Saturn, Enceladus, is settled by Saturn Next in preparation for the colonization of Titan. Autonomous drones are deployed to the surface of Titan to fabricate domed structures that can support human habitation. | ||
2277 | The United Nations, to reflect its modern status as arbiter for international and interplanetary cooperation, is renamed as the United Governed Space Authority. | ||
2279 | A space station is assembled in orbit around Triton to facilitate the colonisation of Neptune | ||
2280 | A space station is transported into Pluto's orbit, with the intention of providing a staging point for the deployment of terraforming drones to the Luyten System and interstellar probes intended for the Gliese 832 and Wolf 1061 systems. | ||
2297 | The first magnetic satellite array is placed in 1.5 million km geosynchronous orbit with Mars, providing an artificial magnetosphere for the planet capable of shielding solar radiation. | ||
2380 | The terraforming of Luyten b begins, thousands of automated drones are deployed to guide large asteroids taken from the Luyten's Star Oort Cloud towards the surface of the planet in a process that is estimated to take five centuries. | ||
2410 | FRIEND (Forward-thinking Radical Intelligent Evolving Nodal Database) is installed in the Olympus Mons Metro, Mars, in order to automate the planet's immense ruling bureaucracy, with mild improvements occurring in its efficiency over the next decades. | ||
2550 | By now, Mars's atmosphere is sufficiently oxygenated to be breathable without augmentation. | ||
2737 | Stable artificial gravity field generators invented, although their power demand is so immense that they are largely kept out of the reach of most consumers. | ||
2796 | Advancements in gravity manipulation leads to the creation of the Kimber Drive, which is patented by Kimber Future Technologies. The first of these drives, while only managing speeds of up to 30-40% of the speed of light, still allowed for much faster transit through the Solar System, particularly for large freighters. |
Mass colonisation of Solar bodies marks a new triumph for the human race.
